ABOUT MISS COURTNEY

Fun fact: I was never homeschooled but always wanted to be growing up. I later participated in alternative, self-paced high school programming, which fundamentally changed how I view learning, performance, and potential.

In college I was later trained by multiple homeschool and alternative education mentors guiding me through hands on experience on how to develop an educational experience for each child’s brain and learning style.

Outside of my teaching and consulting work, I’m also a ballet instructor and enjoy staying active through CrossFit, singing, and playing music. I have a huge heart for non-profit work in the Lake Norman Community & work alongside different disability and military organizations through accessible childcare and resources for families in the exceptional needs community.

Why Harmony Jean Pathways

Homeschooling doesn’t have to feel heavy or isolating.

My goal is to help you build learning that supports your child’s growth, curiosity, and independence while giving you peace of mind along the way.

About Me

Hi, I’m Miss Courtney — founder of Harmony Jean Pathways and an educator who helps homeschool families and alternative learning programs build education that actually works for their children.

I support families who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to meet their child’s needs when traditional schooling feels like a poor fit. My work blends movement, structure, and brain-based instruction so learning feels regulated, engaging, and sustainable.

What I Do

I work both directly with students as a private teacher and tutor, and with parents and programs as a homeschool consultant and coach.

My work includes:

  • ADHD-friendly, movement-based instruction

  • Homeschool planning and curriculum guidance

  • Executive functioning and regulation support

  • Hybrid program and microschool consulting

  • Enrichment classes and alternative learning programs

Whether you’re homeschooling full-time, blending learning through a hybrid or microschool model, I help create systems that support both the child and the adults guiding them.

My Background

I bring over a decade of experience across special education, homeschooling, and alternative learning environments.

My professional background includes:

  • Former K–2 Special Education Instructor in an ABA-principled behavioral school

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with trauma-informed care training

  • Certified ADHD Coach, with a focus on executive functioning and regulation

  • Science of Reading–trained, with structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham experience

  • Leadership of homeschool parent support groups alongside state-aligned homeschool organizations, with extensive mentorship and training

  • Curriculum development for mindfulness, health, movement, and creative arts within homeschool co-ops and enrichment programs

This experience extremely shapes how I approach learning in practical, flexible ways that support real families and real classrooms.
